Hello dear tangueros y tangueras,
I’ve created a new page that showcases Argentine tango blogs from throughout the United States. It’s a small list at this point, as it’s difficult to find blogs that are updated regularly. The blogs and Websites are a mix of personal insights on tango, to event announcements and advice, among other themes.
If you publish a blog on a regular basis, send me a link and I’ll include it on the page.
In other news, next week there’s a Roaring Twenties event, with live tango music from our very own Los Angeles del Tango Ensemble, classes and dancing. Swing and jazz is also part of the street jam. Check out more info here.
Also next week is the one-year celebration of La Milonga Santa Monica at Wokano restaurant. The event can be found on our calendar page (as soon as tango organizers start listing on our Tango Events page, all info on events and classes will be listed there in the future). I visited this milonga last week, and although the turnout was small that night, it was a lovely way to spend a Thursday evening. The milonga is held outside, the floor is granite tile, which is smooth enough for dancing, but a little hard on the feet after a while. I joined a couple of friends, and we had happy hour sushi and drinks, and did a little dancing. It’s one of my favorite places to hangout and enjoy tango or salsa (on Tuesdays) under the stars, and have a little bite.
There are plenty more events going in the next week: the Southern California Tango Competition tonight hosted by Yuliana B, Grand Casino Milonga’s 3rd anniversary on Sunday hosted by Jerry and Christina Perez, and much more. See all on our Tango Calendar page.
Remember tango organizers and teachers, you can list your events for free without registering on our Tango Event page. It works now!
Have a great weekend of dancing!
