I checked out the milonga at Leonardo's recently, typically a salsa venue on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. It's a fantastic space, nice dance floor, and there's a stage for performances, of which milonga organizer Linda Valentino has had a few, with local and visiting tango orchestras. I went salsa dancing the other night..and actually have gone more salsa dancing than tango in the past few months...this is after almost four years of dedicated tango dancing, going 2 to 4 times per week at least, with the salsa happening every couple of months or so.
