This EXCLUSIVE TANGO COURSE is customized for the needs of this community to help dancers find accomplishment and enjoyment on the dance floor. This course will initially be structured around the level of the participants. As soon as 6 students (or 3 couples) can be grouped into the same level, I will provide more classes to accommodate each level (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). Class size is limited to 14 students and courses are in 3 different levels: 1, 2 & 3. For the best results, it is suggested to combine group classes with private lessons.”

During this course, every movement will be explained from the technical, mechanical, and rhythmic point of view. Leading/following and communication with the partner is the foundation from which I can help you to become A CONFIDENT DANCER. At the end of each class a review will be provided for you to record.
You are welcome to start at anytime/ No partner needed.
All classes starts with a warm-up and solo exercises for balance & technique.
TANGO BASIC FUNDAMENTALS COURSE (Level 1)
WEEK 1: Structure, axis, embrace, connection. Walk and Rocks in different directions. Intro to parallel system.
WEEK 2: Change of weight and walking. Intro to circular movements. Front Ocho.
WEEK 3: Box Step (Baldosa) and Parada (stop). Review of all the topics seen in weeks 1 & 2.
WEEK 4: Basic step with cross. Back crosses. Review.
WEEK 5: Learn the mechanics: first by yourself, then with your partner. Ochos and Boleos. Simple combinations for a crowded dance floor.
WEEK 6: Rocking, walking and box step with change of direction.. Parallel basic step with cross.
WEEK 7: Turns and molinetes.
WEEK 8: Intro to cross system. Navigation of the movements on the dance floor. Cross basic step. Review and combinations.
LEGS/AXIS INTER-ACTIVE TANGO MOVES (Level 2)
1. Basic fundamental of adornments.
2. Molinetes and simple turns with calesita.
3. Simple sacadas.
5. Sandwichs & Pasadas.
7. Volcadas Vs Colgadas.
8. Sacadas combinations.

Single Class $25 / DROP IN STUDENTS are accepted if the amount of students is not greater than 20. But exceptions will be made to balance Leaders & Followers.

About Daniela Arcuri
Daniela Arcuri grew up in the heart of Buenos Aires where she had train with the master teachers and milongueros. She is recognized as a multifaceted Tango Legend for her work done in the performance, teaching and social dancing fields. She and Armando Orzuza had a 15 year successful career, they distinguished themselves as one of the top professional tango couples and won worldwide acclaim and recognition in the 90’s. They were brought to the United States to perform on Broadway with “Tango Pasion” in 1993, receiving high recognition by the New York Times. Upon their return to Buenos Aires they received an award for “The Best Young Tango Couple”. One of the highlights of their career was performing on famous TV shows, sharing their mastery, passion and magic with Julio Iglesias on Oprah Winfrey and also were invited to choreograph in the movie “Evita”, “Assassination Tango”, “Tango Magic” at the The Hollywood Bowl, among others. On the lighter side, Daniela made an unforgettable cameo performance in the IBM commercial, that has been aired, for the first time during the 1996 Oscar Ceremony. As the soulful and passionate ambassador of her country, Argentina, she is an intricate part of the evolution of tango dance in the new millennium. Her mission is to bring forward the roots and essence of Argentine tango while respecting its history and spirit. At the present times she resides in Los Angeles, California whre she teaches, choreograph and perform with Sergei Tumas and his show Tango Nuevo Cabaret.
