“CHERISHING THE TRADITIONAL at El Encuentro this Saturday, September 29th. We are honored to welcome to The Tango Room floor Ricardo Maceiras, El Pibe Sarandi.
El Pibe Sarandi was born in Buenos Aires and started dancing at age 13 when there were no tango schools. Together with Carlos Gavito he performed on channel 11 in Argentina at the invitation of the great Gloria and Eduardo. He has appeared in three movies and is considered by the specialized press to be one of the great maestros of Argentine tango. It will be a real treat to see El Pibe perform with Elizabeth Figueroa. To start the night off El PIbe and Elizabeth will be teaching the pre-El Encuentro class at 8:30 PM. We also have the pleasure of celebrating the birthday of the lovely Catherine Veisager! Keeping you on the dance floor all night will be DJ Juan Carlos Szwec playing tandas direct from Buenos Aires.
