Kiana Stringfield
While obtaining her Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2008, Kiana went with a classmate to a milonga out of curiosity and became immediately obsessed with Argentine Tango. As a gymnast for ten years as a child, she has always had a passion for dance. She began studying Tango with the Michigan Argentine Tango Club and has had the opportunity to experience social dancing all over the world. Kiana also worked with the Central Avenue Dance Company in Los Angeles and was showcased in the play “The History of Black Dance in America” for two years. She also studied salsa as a member of the Alma Latina Dance Company in San Diego. More recently, Kiana has been devoted to taking her understanding of Argentine Tango to the next level through learning the art of DJing. She currently DJs regularly at various milongas in the Los Angeles area.
